My Views on Dentistry
I have found that many people have a lot of unanswered questions about dentistry. Whether I'm at a party or on a cruise I find there are plenty of questions people ask me about their teeth, mouth, or related general health. I also have found that I enjoy answering those questions and have already done so publically in The Norman Transcript since 1991.
This part of my web page will be devoted to those subjects and questions. I've been lucky enough to be the recipient of good information for many years. My brother(16 years my elder) was a dentist in Hutchinson, Ks. and I had the privilege as an adolescent to assist him and learn about dentistry from 1959 to 1967. I assisted in surgery and emergencies learning much from big brother. After studying zoology and chemistry at the University of Kansas at Lawrence I was accepted and graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City before accepting further training at Walter Reed, Fort McPherson, and U.S. Army Hospital at Fort Campbell in the U.S. Army.
I have been in private practice since 1973 in Norman, OK serving my community as Chief of Dental Serviees at J.D. McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities, adjunct professor of dental hygiene at Oscar Rose, and adjunct professor of surgery for OU at Health for Friends teaching seniors at OU School of Dentistry.
I hope to bring to this space helpful and accurate information about dental, oral, and general health. Please feel free to ask questions in the adjacent space. I will do my best to answer them.
Thank you,
Dr. Robert Wells
